Scarborough—Rouge Park
Riding Overview
A new riding created in 2012 that includes the Scarborough side of the former Pickering—Scarborough East riding, as well as parts of Scarborough—Guildwood and (soon to be former) Scarborough—Rouge River. The new riding's boundary distribution caused controversy in 2012, because it split two priority neighbourhoods (Malvern and Morningside) between different ridings after decades of representation in a single riding (Scarborough—Rouge River), held by NDP MP Rathika Sitsabaiesan. According to 2011 election results, a Liberal candidate would have won this new seat. Sitsabaiesan is running in the new riding of Scarborough North in October, so there is no incumbent in this race.
