Mississauga East—Cooksville
Riding Overview
Traditionally a safe non-Conservative riding, Mississauga—Cooksville was taken by the Conservatives in 2011 by a narrow margin. The Conservatives took 40% of the vote and the Liberals took 38.5%. The NDP trailed with 19%. The riding has been altered slightly and now includes a higher percentage of voters who supported the Conservatives in 2011. The incumbent, Conservative MP Wladyslaw Lizon, and the 2011 Liberal candidate, Peter Fonseca, are both running again in October.
