Riding Overview
Mont-Royal has been held by the Liberals since 1940. The riding has been threatened at times, including in 2011 when the Conservatives came within 6% of winning. The NDP gained 10% from 2008 to 2011, the Conservatives gained 8%, and the Liberals lost 13%. The current incumbent, Liberal MP Irwin Cotler, will not be seeking re-election in October.
