Riding Overview

A traditionally safe non-Conservative riding, the NDP took this largely rural riding north of Montreal from the Bloc Québécois in 2011. The incumbent, NDP MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau, did not live in the riding before the 2011 election. She is now the Deputy Agriculture Critic and vice-chair of the NDP National Caucus.
