A traditionally safe non-Conservative riding, Charlottetown includes Prince Edward Island's entire capital city. Held by the Liberals since 1988, the Conservatives were unable to get within 10% of the Liberals until 2011, when a tight race brought the Conservatives within 7%. The NDP also experienced considerable growth in 2011. The incumbent, Liberal MP Sean Casey, is seeking re-election in October.
