Riding Overview
A new riding with boundaries similar to the former riding of Richmond, with the southeast corner having been transferred to the new riding of Steveston—Richmond East. Although Richmond has been held by the Conservatives since 2008, the Liberal party has had strong support in this riding in the past. Conservative MP Alice Wong has held the Richmond riding since 2008 and is seeking re-election in this new seat in October.
