Riding Overview

Brandon—Souris has traditionally been a safe Conservative riding, but a 2013 by-election brought the Liberals within 2% of taking the seat. The by-election was spurred by the resignation of Conservative MP Merv Tweed, who left for the private sector. Conservative MP Larry Maguire, who won the 2013 by-election, is seeking re-election in October.
