Riding Overview
A new riding in Ontario made up of parts of Whitby—Oshawa, which was Jim Flaherty's riding. Flaherty held it for the Conservatives from 2006 until he retired in 20104. The by-election in 2014 saw a closer race with the Liberals taking 40% of the vote and the Conservatives taking 49%. The incumbent, Conservative MP Pat Perkins, is seeking re-election in October. The Liberal candidate, Celina Caesar-Chavannes, is the same as in the 2014 by-election,.
