Riding Overview
Traditionally a safe non-Conservative riding in downtown Toronto. It was former Liberal leader Bob Rae's seat until he resigned in 2013. In a much-watched race, the Liberal candidate, former-journalist Chrystia Freeland, won the seat over the NDP's Linda McQuaig. McQuaig is seeking re-election in October, while a new contender, Bill Morneau, is the Liberal candidate.
