Scarborough—Agincourt
Riding Overview
Following the election boundary redistribution in 2012, this riding lost part of its eastern boundary to the new federal riding of Scarborough North. Scarborough—Agincourt has the highest percentage of Canadian immigrants of any federal riding. The Liberal party has held this seat since the riding was created in 1988, although their margin of victory decreased in 2011, but increased again in the 2014 by-election, which was held when Liberal MP John Karygiannis resigned to run for mayor of Toronto. Liberal MP Arnold Chan won the seat for the Liberals in that by-election and is seeking re-election in October.
