Riding Overview

This riding is considered to be one of largest Liberal strongholds in the country. The Liberals have won this seat in every election, both federally and provincially, since the riding's creation in 1935. The incumbent, Liberal MP Mauril Bélanger, who has represented Ottawa—Vanier since 1995, is seeking re-election in October.
