Riding Overview
Saint-Hyacinthe—Bagot is a potential swing riding outside Montreal. In a 2007 by-election the Conservative candidate lost to the Bloc Québécois by 5% of the vote. In 2011, the NDP gained nearly 40% and won by a wide margin, leaving the Bloc Québécois and Conservatives in a distant second and third. The incumbent, NDP MP Marie-Claude Morin, will not be seeking re-election in October.
