Riding Overview
A traditionally safe non-Conservative riding in the northern suburbs of Montreal. The seat is currently held by the NDP, who won the seat from the Bloc Québécois in 2011, who had held it for several previous elections. In 2006, the Conservatives received 21% of the vote. The incumbent, NDP MP Laurin Liu, was the youngest woman to be elected to Canadian Parliament and is currently the Deputy Critic of Science and Technology, is running for the re-election in October.
