Riding Overview

This large rural riding in the south of Quebec City has been held by the Conservatives since 2006, when Christian Paradis beat the Bloc Québécois incumbent. Paradis currently holds the seat, having secured 49% of the vote in 2011. However, in April, Paradis announced that he would not be seeking re-election. In 2011, the NDP took 26%, the Bloc 17%, and the Liberals 6%.
