Compton—Stanstead
Riding Overview
A traditionally safe non-Conservative riding, Compton—Stanstead is a mostly rural riding in southern Quebec. The NDP have held the seat since 2011, and the Bloc Québécois held it prior to that. A Progressive Conservative candidate was elected in 1997, who crossed over to the Liberal Party for the 2000 election. The incumbent, NDP MP Jean Rousseau, is running for re-election in October.
