Covering more than half of Quebec, this riding is traditionally non-Conservative, although the Conservatives are a perennial second. The Liberals held the riding from 1997-2004, then the Bloc Québécois held it until 2011, when it went NDP by a large margin. The Conservatives were in second place and the Bloc was in third. The incumbent, NDP MP Romeo Saganash, is Cree and is one of the NDP’s star candidates in October.
