Only 500 votes (about 1.5% of the vote) separated the Liberals from the Conservatives in 2008. In 2011, the incumbent, Conservative MP Rodney Weston, took 50% of the vote, while the NDP took 31% and the Liberals slipped to 16% of the vote.
