A traditionally safe non-Conservative riding in eastern New Brunswick, Beauséjour has been held by the Liberals since 2000, with the Conservatives a perennial second. The riding went to the NDP in 1997, but that MP, Angela Vautour, crossed the floor to the Progressive Conservatives. The Conservatives were less than 6% behind the Liberals in 2011. The incumbent, Liberal MP Dominic Leblanc, who is the Liberal Party's House Leader, is seeking re-election in October.
